Students at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School recently hosted 12 students from St. Ursula High School in Hachinohe, Japan. The students stayed with host families and were part of a visit to Cleveland’s City Hall and John Carroll University.
The third graders at Our Lady of the Elms School, Akron, recently made a You Tube video to invite First Lady Michele Obama to their fourth annual First Ladies of the United State of America Presentation Tea. The tea is the culmination of a project where students research past First Ladies and learn about citizenship, leadership, advocacy and volunteerism.
The students of St. Angela Merici School, Fairview Park, will be participating in their annual fun run and walk this weekend to benefit the West Side Catholic Center and St. Angela Merici Wellness initiatives. The event is in its seventh year and is co-sponsored by Fairview Hospital.
A good time was had by all at the recent Lorain County Catholic Elementary School Band Festival hosted at St. Jude School, Elyria. Also participating were St. Mary School, Elyria; St. Peter School, North Ridgeville; St. Mary School, Avon; St. Joseph School, Avon Lake; St. Anthony School, Lorain; St. Joseph School, Amherst; and St. Mary School, Vermillion.
At St. Gabriel School, Concord, students are becoming known for their talent in theatre. The school is putting on State Fair, this weekend at school. Past performances by the school’s Performing Arts Group include The Music Man, Once Upon a Mattress, Fiddler on the Roof, and Beauty and the Beast.
