Saint Ignatius High School welcomes new staff and faculty

There are some new and returning faces at Saint Ignatius High School. Gerald Skoch ’77 joined as Vice President and Chief Mission Officer. Skoch is responsible for all programs that support the mission of the school, as well as strategic planning. Keith Mokris ’04 is the school’s new alumni director with a primary role of engaging Saint Ignatius alumni in the life of the school. Lisa Metro is director of communications and will oversee communications strategy and public relations.
On the faculty side, Rory Hennessy ‘78 was promoted to dean of students; Ryan Franzinger ’02 was named assistant to the dean of students; Mark Kaiser ‘06 begins as math teacher; and Pat Gallagher ’04 as English teacher.
COURTESY ST. IGNATIUS HIGH SCHOOLSaint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors Sept. 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,450 young men who hail from 40 cities in a seven-county region. Located in close proximity to downtown Cleveland in the historic Ohio City neighborhood, the school sits on 18.5 acres and includes 18 buildings and three athletic fields. The school has 105 faculty members, 60 percent of whom have spent 10 years or more teaching at Saint Ignatius. In September 2009, the school was designated a Blue Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education.
